Nicosia, Cyprus. A 50-year-old prisoner died at Nicosia General Hospital in the early hours of Thursday while receiving treatment for serious health problems, police said.
Hospital treatment
The man, a Greek national, had been receiving treatment at the hospital for about two months.
He died at around 1.20am.
Sentence and procedures
He was serving a six-year prison sentence following a conviction for drug-related offences.
Police said all required procedures are being followed.
