Larnaca, Cyprus. A hostage situation in Larnaca ended without injuries on Wednesday, police said. A man was arrested after an incident in the city centre.
Incident reported in city centre
Police said they were notified just after 3.30pm that a man was on a balcony waving a knife. The area was cordoned off and police negotiators were brought to the scene.
Two women found in flat
Police said they found two women in the flat who were reportedly being threatened by the man.
Arrest after negotiations
Following negotiations, police said they immobilised the man and arrested him. The two women were reported to be safe and were taken to hospital as a precaution.
