Ierokipia municipality continues weekly home recycling collections in Yeroskipou, Koloni and Konia

Yeroskipou, Cyprus. The Ierokipia municipality said on Wednesday it is continuing weekly collections of recyclable materials from homes in Yeroskipou, Koloni and Konia to boost recycling. The programme includes PMD packaging and paper.


Weekly collections and accepted materials

The collection teams gather PMD packaging, including plastic, metal and drink containers, as well as paper from all residences once a week.

Collection schedule

The programme covers the borough of Yeroskipou, including Koloni, every Tuesday morning, while collections in Konia take place every Friday morning.

Guidance for residents

Residents are asked to place recyclable materials in suitable bags or bins outside their homes the evening before or early on the morning of the collection day to ensure timely collection.

Participation and planned expansion

The municipality said public participation is important for strengthening recycling, protecting the environment and improving quality of life in the area. It added that the goal is to expand the programme to other areas within the municipality’s boundaries, including the villages of Timi, Ayia Marinouda and Achelia.
