Limassol, Cyprus. The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus and the Rialto Theatre will present a free open-air screening event at the Molos Amphitheatre in Limassol on Friday. The programme revisits five films from last year’s festival selection ahead of the festival’s 16th edition this autumn.
Screening details
The screenings will begin at 8.30pm and are organised in collaboration with Limassol Municipality. The event is free to attend and is recommended for audiences over 18.
Films in the programme
The programme includes Fish River Anthology from Finland, directed by Veera Lamminpää. The 10-minute film begins at the fish counter of a supermarket about to close, where customers waiting in line turn the delay into a moment of existential reflection and spontaneous song.
Nikos’ Long Walk from Cyprus, directed by Andrea’s Sheittanis, follows two men with nothing in common who decide to climb a mountain together to shout. The film explores friendship, despair and the human need for release through a journey that develops beyond its initial premise.
Unreal Estate Agent from the Netherlands, directed by Bodhi Le Belle, centres on Jos, who is searching for a home. During a house visit, the estate agent is accidentally killed, setting off a chain of events from which there is no return.
Little Monsters from France tells the story of Erwan, who wants to get to school to tell Agathe he loves her, but shares his medical transport van with David, who has plans of his own. The film focuses on rivalry, difference and everyday acts.
What If They Bomb Here Tonight? from Lebanon, directed by Samir Syriani, follows a couple lying awake with their children nearby as they listen to the news and consider whether to stay in or leave Beirut. The film was shot with the director’s wife.
