Tehran, Iran. At least 108 people have died in an explosion at a school in southern Iran, a local prosecutor said, as the United States and Israel launched massive air strikes across the country.

Explosion reported during bombardments

The blast occurred during a wave of aerial bombardments. President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the incident as a “barbaric act” and “another black page in the record of countless crimes committed by the aggressors.”

Location near IRGC base

The school is located near a base of the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which has been a primary target of the ongoing strikes. Neither Washington nor Jerusalem has confirmed an attack on the educational facility.

National casualty figures

The Iranian Red Crescent reported that the total death toll from the air strikes across the country has reached at least 201, with a further 747 people injured.
