Jewellery worth over €1 million stolen in under three minutes from Ayia Napa shop

The gem, known as ‘Bleu Royal’ and set in a ring, is among the rarest ever to be unearthed

Police were called to the scene at 4am on Monday after the shop owner reported the burglary.

CCTV shows rapid theft

Video footage showed the burglars entering through a sliding door, breaking a glass display case and taking high-value jewellery within 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

Estimated losses revised upward

The value of the stolen jewellery was initially estimated at €200,000, but was later revised after it was discovered that expensive diamond pieces had been targeted, bringing the total to five times the initial estimate.
