Kato Drys museum to host Almond Blossoms and the Bee Travels event this weekend

Kato Drys, Cyprus. The Bee and Embroidery Museum in Kato Drys will host the Almond Blossoms and the Bee Travels event this weekend, focusing on local almond varieties and the role of bees. The event will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday with free admission.


Two-day programme at Bee and Embroidery Museum

The museum in the Larnaca district said it is organising the event as the valley’s almond trees bloom. It will welcome visitors to celebrate spring’s seasonal produce.

Focus on local almond varieties and traditional goods

The museum will introduce visitors to 15 local varieties of almonds, providing information about each and their flavours. Guests will also be offered traditional local goods made from almonds and honey, as well as a glass of soumada, a traditional Cypriot drink made from almonds.

Bee talks and event details

The programme will include talks by specialists on bees, their role in pollination, and how they travel from flower to flower in search of nectar. The event is open to all ages and is free to attend at the Bee and Embroidery Museum in Kato Drys, Larnaca, from February 28 to March 1, 10am to 4pm.
