Keve joins European partners in Sofia to coordinate next phases of SUSTAINET green business initiative

Sofia, Bulgaria. The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) met European partners in Sofia on February 19 and 20 to coordinate the next stages of the SUSTAINET green business initiative.


Project scope and funding

The SUSTAINET project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme and provides tools to improve environmental performance while promoting knowledge sharing through a European network. The initiative aims to foster green business innovation and education locally and internationally to support sustainable economic growth.

Meeting focus and next steps

Project partners spent two working days assessing implementation progress and coordinating next steps for key work packages. Participants placed particular emphasis on developing tools and resources for Green Business Innovation Centres (GBICs).

Education and skills development

The meeting also addressed upgrading vocational education and training as well as higher education programmes to enhance green skills.

Keve statement

Keve said it remains committed to supporting the establishment and operation of GBICs, as one of five project partners from Cyprus, Bulgaria and Greece, and to contributing to sustainable economic development and green innovation in Cyprus and at the European level. It added that its participation in the transnational meeting confirms its commitment to strengthening the green transition of businesses through collaboration, exchange of know-how and development of modern educational tools.
