Nicosia, Cyprus. The Confederation of Organisations for the Disabled (Kysoa) has called for an immediate investigation and accountability after a TikTok video allegedly showing a minor with Down syndrome being humiliated circulated online. Police said their cybercrime unit is examining the case following a complaint from a member of the public.
Kysoa condemnation
In a statement issued on Monday, Kysoa said a person with Down syndrome had been publicly humiliated and described such treatment as abuse rather than content.
Police investigation
Police said preliminary information indicates that two women heard in the video appear to be laughing while the child is asked to expose his genitals to the camera.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the video and identify those responsible for creating and distributing it.
