Larnaca court remands 24-year-old suspect for seven days over nightclub stabbing

Larnaca, Cyprus. A 24-year-old man was remanded for seven days by the Larnaca district court on Thursday over the attempted murder of a 19-year-old Greek Cypriot. Police are investigating multiple offences in connection with the case.


Incident at Larnaca nightclub

The incident occurred at a coastal nightclub in Larnaca last Sunday. Police said an accidental contact in a crowded space reportedly led to an argument, followed by a physical altercation during which the victim was punched in the face.

Injuries and medical findings

The victim later realised he was bleeding and was taken to hospital by his friends. Doctors found a three-centimetre wound in the kidney area and a ruptured kidney caused by a sharp object.

Investigation and arrest

Larnaca CID said it continues investigations, adding that evidence collected at the scene led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
