Larnaca, Cyprus. A 35-year-old man accused of abducting two women and holding them against their will has been remanded in custody until July 27, when he is scheduled to enter a plea before the Larnaca criminal court.
Incident and arrest
The alleged incident occurred on March 25. At about 3.30pm, police responded to a report of a possible kidnapping in progress at an apartment.
The suspect appeared on the apartment balcony while holding a knife and making threats, according to the allegations.
Police cordoned off the area and began negotiations with the man before arresting him.
Charges
The man faces charges including kidnapping, kidnapping with intent to cause actual bodily harm, threatening to commit physical violence, and assault with intent to cause actual bodily harm.
