Larnaca, Cyprus. The Federation of Parents’ Associations of Larnaca Primary Schools will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the longest line of AA batteries at an environmental event on 7 June.
Record attempt
Organisers said the event will take place at Zouchouri Square from 5pm and aims to collect more than 33,000 AA batteries, exceeding the current record of 31,204 set in the United States in 2023.
Participation and recycling
Students, parents, teachers and volunteers from the Larnaca district are expected to take part. All collected batteries will be handed over to the Collective Management System for Portable Batteries and Accumulators, Cyprus (AFIS) for recycling.
