Larnaca, Cyprus. Police arrested two men during an operation late Tuesday night, including a 34-year-old in connection with a drugs case and a 31-year-old wanted on a theft warrant linked to an incident in Nicosia.
Drug arrest and seizure
Police said the arrests took place at around 11.40pm on Tuesday when members of the drug squad Ykan stopped the 34-year-old for a check in Larnaca. A search of a bag he was carrying uncovered 359 grams of cocaine and two grams of cannabis resin, along with two precision scales, €1,115 in cash and two mobile phones, all of which were seized.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. He was brought before the Larnaca court on Wednesday, which issued an eight-day remand order.
Second arrest linked to theft case
Police said that a few minutes after stopping the 34-year-old, officers also stopped a 31-year-old man at the same location. A check of his details revealed an outstanding arrest warrant in connection with a case of theft and malicious damage committed recently in Nicosia.
He was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody.
Theft details
Police said the theft took place between March 14 and 15, 2026, when unknown persons stole two air-conditioning units from a shop in Nicosia.
