Limassol court bans Globe of Death attraction on seafront during Kataklysmos

The carnival stunt involves motorcyclists performing loops in a metal cage

Limassol, Cyprus. The Limassol district court has banned the “Globe of Death” attraction on the Limassol seafront during the Kataklysmos holiday period, following a request from the municipality. Police in Limassol have been notified to enforce the order.

Permit and safety concerns

The carnival stunt features motorcyclists performing loops inside a metal cage. The municipality said the attraction does not have the necessary operating permit, while the fire service found it unsuitable after an inspection and municipal services determined that safety conditions had not been met.

Court order and public warning

Officials said the court order was issued for public safety. The municipality said the ban applies to the Limassol embankment area and urged visitors to follow safety instructions and avoid unauthorised facilities during Kataklysmos events.
