Ayios Tychonos, Cyprus. The motorway linking Limassol and Nicosia was temporarily closed on Thursday morning near the village of Ayios Tychonos after a road traffic collision at 9am.
Collision and road closure
Police said the incident left two vehicles immobilised on the motorway, with efforts under way to remove them from the road.
Police advice to motorists
Police urged motorists in the area to exercise caution, drive at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, and follow police instructions.
Medical response
An ambulance was called to transport one person involved in the incident to a local hospital.
