Nicosia, Cyprus. A 41-year-old man was arrested after a drink-driving collision in Nicosia early on Tuesday, police said. The crash occurred at around 3.40am on Tseriou avenue.
Crash and injuries
Police said the man’s car collided with a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old woman, under circumstances still under investigation. The woman was taken by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital, where she received treatment and was later discharged.
Alcohol tests and arrest
Police said the woman tested negative for alcohol. The man failed a breath test, recording 83µg, above the legal limit of 22µg, and was taken into custody.
Court appearance and ongoing investigation
The man is due to appear before Nicosia district court later on Tuesday. Nicosia traffic police are continuing their investigation.
