Famagusta, Cyprus. A 31-year-old man was arrested as part of an investigation into the illegal possession of explosives and other items, police said on Wednesday. He is expected to appear before the Famagusta district court later on Wednesday for a detention order.
Items seized at residence
Police said that on Tuesday they located a vehicle and a shipping container at the suspect’s residence, along with what appeared to be a hand grenade, electronic devices and a small amount of cannabis. The items were seized at the scene.
Investigation continues
Following the discovery, the man was arrested and taken into custody as part of the investigation. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
