Limassol, Cyprus. A 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening in Limassol after police allegedly found drugs during a search of his property. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Search warrant and attempted disposal
According to police, officers arrived at the property at around 6.45pm to execute a search warrant. The suspect reportedly refused to open the front door and was seen running toward the rear of the house through an open window.
Police said officers forced entry into the residence and found the man standing over a toilet bowl. Officers reportedly recovered about four grams of cannabis, which police said suggested an attempt to dispose of evidence.
Further findings at the property
Police said a subsequent search of the property uncovered an additional six grams of cannabis, a small quantity of a white substance believed to be cocaine, and a precision electronic scale bearing traces of both substances.
Search at relative’s home
During the investigation, police also searched the home of a relative nearby, where officers said they found about 44 grams of cocaine.
Arrest and investigation
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and taken into custody. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
