Mark O’Neil leaves Columbia Group as president and CEO with immediate effect

Nicosia, Cyprus. Mark O’Neil has left his role as president and chief executive of Cyprus-headquartered Columbia Group with immediate effect, according to a report by TradeWinds, which said no reason was given.

Internal notice to staff

TradeWinds reported that staff were informed on Thursday via an internal email from chairman Heinrich Schoeller.

Interim appointment

Andreas Hadjipetrou will assume the role on an interim basis, the report said. Publicly available Columbia-linked and industry profiles identify him as the group’s chief commercial officer and managing director of Columbia Shipmanagement.

No reason given

The report said no reason was provided for O’Neil’s immediate departure. It also noted that O’Neil had still been publicly representing the group in March and early April.
