Nicosia, Cyprus. Mostly clear skies are forecast across most of the island on Sunday, with inland temperatures expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius.
Sunday forecast
Increased cloud cover may moderate temperatures in some areas. Highs are expected to reach 32C on the southwest and west coasts, 35C on the remaining coasts and 29C in the mountains.
Overnight conditions
Skies will remain largely clear overnight, although cloud cover is expected to increase in coastal areas. Light fog and mist may form in eastern parts of the island during the early hours of Monday.
Temperatures are forecast to fall to 23C inland and on the coasts, and to 19C in the mountains.
Outlook
Similar weather conditions are expected to continue through Wednesday, with temperatures remaining at current levels.
