National Bank of Greece buys back 1.3 million shares for €20.2 million

Athens, Greece. National Bank of Greece announced that it acquired 1,295,013 own shares between July 7 and July 14, 2026, at a total cost of €20,193,840.73.

The shares were purchased at a weighted average price of €15.59 each under the bank’s own-share buyback programme.


Buyback programme

The transactions follow decisions taken at the bank’s annual general meeting of shareholders on April 30, 2026, as well as subsequent announcements concerning the initial phase of the buyback programme.

The programme was approved by the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism on June 8, 2026.

Shareholding and cancellation

Following the latest purchases, National Bank of Greece directly holds 20,561,805 own shares, representing 2.25% of its total share capital.

The bank intends to proceed with the subsequent cancellation of the shares.
