The Norwegian government made an unprecedented step and blocked the sale of the military equipment to Cyprus.
Regardless of the acute reaction of the Cyprus officials, the Norwegian government is unlikely to change their view. Therefore the Ministry of Defence was forced to announce new tender.
A British company already offered to supply similar equipment from another European country, however the tender committee of the Ministry decided to start the process of the very beginning and to amend the specification of the equipment. The military officials, however, demand the urgent supply of the necessary equipment.
