One arrested after Larnaca fight leaves two injured, police say

Larnaca, Cyprus. Police said a 23-year-old local resident was arrested after a fight in Larnaca on Wednesday night left two people injured. The suspect was remanded in custody for seven days as investigations continue.


Incident reported by three individuals

Police said the case was reported by three individuals aged 36, 30 and 25, who stated that at around 8.50pm they had an argument with the 23-year-old inside an apartment building in Larnaca.

Alleged attack and injuries

According to police, the suspect allegedly called friends to the scene, who then attacked the complainants. The 25-year-old sustained wounds to the back and other injuries from a sharp object, while the 30-year-old suffered hand injuries.

Hospital treatment

Both injured individuals were transported to Larnaca general hospital, received first aid and were discharged, police said.

Arrest and court proceedings

Police said they located and arrested the 23-year-old for questioning in connection with an ongoing investigation into conspiracy to commit a felony, assault causing serious bodily harm, injury and stabbing. He later appeared before the Larnaca district court, which issued a seven-day remand.

Investigation ongoing

Authorities said the investigation is continuing to establish the full circumstances of the attack and any additional involvement.
