Nicosia, Cyprus. One Dream One Wish is organising its 26th annual “Route of Love” motorcycle ride from March 11 to 15, 2026, according to a press release issued on Thursday. The event aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by children and young people with cancer and to raise funds to fulfil their wishes.
Awareness and fundraising goals
The charity ride is intended to highlight the difficulties faced by children and young people with cancer while collecting donations to help grant their wishes. The association said the initiative aims to bring hope to affected children and their families.
Electricity Authority of Cyprus support
For many years, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has supported the association’s efforts. Traditionally, the second day of the ride begins outside the EAC headquarters, and this year the motorcyclists departed from the site on Thursday at 7.30am.
Statements from organisers
EAC general manager Adonis Yasemidis welcomed the riders and volunteers, saying their effort helps ensure children with cancer and their families receive financial and psychological support. He said the funds raised would allow the children’s wishes to be fulfilled and added that initiatives like the “Route of Love” show families facing the disease are not alone.
George Penintaex, president of One Dream One Wish, officially launched the event by sending off the motorcyclists and thanked the EAC for hosting the ride and for its continued support of children with cancer.
