Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested four people overnight for offences including carrying a knife and illegal stay in the Republic. Officers also conducted wide-ranging checks on vehicles, individuals and premises as part of an effort to tackle delinquency.
Arrests and inspections
Police said four people were arrested overnight for a range of offences, including carrying a knife and illegal stay in the Republic.
During the night, officers stopped 524 vehicles and checked 675 individuals, and carried out 27 inspections of premises.
Traffic enforcement results
Traffic enforcement checks led to 309 reports for various violations, including 134 for speeding and 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
A total of 107 alcohol tests were conducted, and police impounded 32 vehicles.
Ongoing actions
Police said coordinated policing actions will continue on a daily basis.
