Palestinian Independent Film Festival returns for third year with events in Cyprus and Greece

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Palestinian Independent Film Festival will return for a third consecutive year this spring, running simultaneously across five cities in Cyprus and Greece from May 8-10.

Locations and partners

In Greece, the towns of Agios Nikolaos and Chania in Crete will take part in the festival, as will Ikaria. In Cyprus, Synergeio Theatre in Limassol and United for Palestine in Nicosia will collaborate with the festival.

Programme and events

Alongside the main festival screenings, each city will host pre- and post-festival events, including discussions, gatherings, workshops, and community-based cultural activities. The three-day programme has not yet been announced and will include a curated selection of Palestinian films reflecting this year’s festival theme.

Funding and organisation

The festival said it operates without corporate or institutional funding and is non-profit and volunteer-run. A crowdfunding campaign has been set up to cover screening fees for filmmakers, subtitling, and organisational needs across the different locations.
