Nicosia, Cyprus. The Paphos regional board of tourism (Etap) said it is continuing efforts to promote the district as a domestic holiday destination after participating in the “Taxidi” travel fair 2026 in Nicosia. The initiative is part of a strategy to strengthen domestic tourism in Cyprus and position Paphos as an all-year-round destination.

Campaign focus and strategy

Etap said its domestic tourism promotion campaign continues throughout the summer, primarily through social media platforms, following what it described as a successful nationwide Easter holiday campaign. The board said it aims to present Paphos as a destination combining nature, culture and authenticity.

“Taxidi” travel fair participation

Etap described its participation in the exhibition as a key step in highlighting Paphos as an ideal destination for short getaways across all seasons, targeting residents seeking local travel options. The travel fair took place at the Cyprus State Fair Grounds in Nicosia from April 17 to April 19, 2026, and drew strong visitor turnout over the three-day event.

Statements from Etap

According to Etap, “Paphos successfully achieved its objectives at the exhibition, further reinforcing its position among the top domestic holiday choices for Cyprus residents.” Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, head of the Paphos regional board of tourism, said the organisation’s efforts “continue without interruption” to attract domestic visitors and strengthen the district’s tourism appeal.

Invitation to residents and visitor experience

Hadjigeorgiou said the organisation continues to invite Cyprus residents to choose local holidays and discover destinations within the island. Etap encouraged visitors to explore the region through its countryside, traditional villages and cultural heritage.
