Paralimni, Cyprus. Paralimni-Deryneia municipality said it has installed 10 additional feeding shelters for stray cats. It also announced approval of plans to upgrade and landscape a roundabout near the district land registry office in Paralimni.
Donation of feeding shelters
The municipality said the shelters were donated by veterinarian Panayiotis Tsoukkas, owner of the Furry Friends Veterinary Clinic in Paralimni. It described the donation as “a beautiful gesture that demonstrates in practice a love for animals”. The municipality added that it “continues its animal welfare actions tirelessly so that our four-legged friends can live safely, well-fed and loved”.
Roundabout upgrade and landscaping plan
In a separate announcement, the municipality said the local council has approved plans to upgrade and landscape the roundabout located near the district land registry office in Paralimni. It said the central feature of the redesigned roundabout will be a traditional agricultural windmill intended to serve as a landmark for the municipality.
Water feature and planting
According to the statement, the windmill will be surrounded by a circular water installation with successive jets of water that will rise and fall and be illuminated with alternating colours. The area will also include landscaped greenery and flowers.
