Nicosia, Cyprus. Petrol station owners are set to protest outside the presidential palace on Tuesday, seeking President Nikos Christodoulides’ intervention over a transport ministry decree introducing new ADR requirements for fuel tankers.
The association says the rules could immobilise up to 90 per cent of fuel tankers.
Protest route and traffic measures
Protesters are expected to gather at the GSP stadium at 10am before travelling to the presidential palace via Iosif Hadjiiosif and Athalassa avenues.
Police will implement temporary traffic arrangements in the area.
Association position
Petrol station owners’ association chairman Savvas Prokopiou said on Monday that members supported the new regulations but required time to complete the procedures needed to comply with the decree.
