Ayia Napa, Cyprus. Police on Sunday arrested a 50-year-old man suspected of committing an armed robbery in Ayia Napa on Saturday. The arrest was made under a court warrant, police said.
Alleged robbery and injury
Police said the suspect allegedly robbed a 20-year-old man who was walking in a neighbourhood in Ayia Napa at around 10pm. The 20-year-old attempted to resist and was injured with a knife the alleged perpetrator had brought.
Victim taken to hospital
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Investigation ongoing
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
