Nicosia, Cyprus. Police said eight individuals were arrested on Thursday during coordinated overnight operations across urban areas. The arrests followed checks of vehicles and inspections of premises, police said.
Arrests and alleged offences
Police said the arrests involved offences including conspiracy to commit a felony, arson, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, assaulting police officers, and residing in Cyprus without the requisite residence documents.
Vehicle checks
According to police, officers stopped 602 vehicles and checked 749 drivers and passengers during the overnight operations.
Premises inspections
Police said 22 premises were inspected, and four complaints were recorded regarding commercial properties for breaches of operating licence conditions.
