Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested nine individuals on Sunday night for offences including assault, drugs and illegal residence. Officers also conducted extensive vehicle checks and raided multiple establishments.
Vehicle checks and violations
A total of 400 vehicles were pulled over and 516 drivers and passengers checked. Police filed 225 reports for traffic violations and impounded 13 vehicles.
Speeding and impaired driving
As a result of the checks, 101 individuals were booked for speeding, five for drink driving and two for driving under the influence of drugs.
Establishment raids
Police raided 39 establishments and filed two reports.
