Poll shows Volt rising in Cyprus election race for fourth place, with Edek and Dipa also up

Volt candidates submit their candidacy

Nicosia, Cyprus. A poll released on Sunday put Volt among the parties competing for fourth place ahead of this month’s parliamentary election, while also indicating improved prospects for Edek and Dipa.

Poll methodology and overall picture

The poll was conducted by RealPolls and asked 1,555 voters for their preferences. It forecasts that Cyprus’ two largest parties, Disy and Akel, will again win the most votes on polling day, though it predicts both will receive less than 20 per cent.

Disy and Akel forecast below 20 per cent

Disy were forecast to win 19.7 per cent of the vote, while Akel were forecast to win 17.5 per cent. In both cases, such a result would constitute the lowest vote share recorded for either party in a nationwide contest in their respective histories.

Elam steady in third place

Elam were forecast to win 14 per cent of the vote, remaining in third place. Every poll since February has predicted the party to win between 13 and 15 per cent.

Tight race for fourth place

The poll placed former auditor-general Odysseas Michaelides’ Alma in fourth place with 9.4 per cent, followed by social media influencer Fidias Panayiotou’s Direct Democracy Cyprus on 8.7 per cent.

Diko and Volt close behind

Diko were forecast to receive 7.8 per cent, which would be the worst result in a nationwide contest in the party’s history. Volt were forecast to take 7.2 per cent.

Edek and Dipa show improved polling

Edek were forecast to win 3.9 per cent, the highest the party has received in any poll since 2024, after recent polls had suggested it may receive less than two per cent. Dipa were forecast 3.7 per cent, also the highest figure the party has been forecast in any poll since 2024.
