Protaras, Cyprus. The Protaras Summer Film Festival begins this week with eight free screenings at the Municipal Events Square on Protaras’ central avenue. The programme runs from July 8 to July 26 and includes blockbuster films, new releases, animations and live action movies.
Opening programme
Organisers Paralimni Youth will open the 2026 programme on Wednesday at 9pm with Avatar: Fire & Ash. On the following evening, Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling will be screened at 9pm.
Family and late-evening screenings
On July 10, Zootopia 2, dubbed in Greek, will be shown at 8pm for young viewers, families and animation fans. The same evening, The Naked Gun with Liam Neeson will follow at 10pm.
Weekend schedule
On Saturday, Smurfs, in Greek, will be screened at 8pm, followed by Predator: Badlands at 10pm. On Sunday, The Bad Guys 2 will be shown for Greek speakers before The Sheep Detectives closes the first week with a screening at 10pm.
Festival run
Twenty more films are scheduled over the following three weeks at Cyprus’ seaside resort. The annual festival offers outdoor screenings for all ages at the Municipal Events Square of Protaras. More information is available at www.psff.cy.
