Limassol, Cyprus. Rialto Theatre has announced its April programme, featuring classical music and hymns, theatre screenings, a film festival, and an International Jazz Day concert.
Easter concert opens April programme
The programme opens with Rutter: Requiem, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra’s Easter concert featuring John Rutter’s Requiem and Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate, K.165. The concert takes place on April 2 with Georgian conductor Levan Jagaev, sopranos Mariza Anastasiades and Eleni Charalambous, and the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra Choir.
National Theatre Live screens Shakespeare’s Hamlet
On April 4, Rialto Theatre will screen National Theatre Live’s production of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Directed by Robert Hastie, the production features Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera as Hamlet and 2024 Ian Charleson Award winner Francesca Mills as Ophelia.
Cyprus Film Days International Festival returns
After an Easter holiday break, the programme resumes with the Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2026 from April 17 to 25. In its 24th edition, artistic directors Argyro Nicolaou and Petros Charalambous will present premieres of award-winning films, international and local screenings, competitions, and parallel events.
Industry platform and youth programme included
Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days will take place as part of the festival as a co-production, training and networking platform for producers, directors and screenwriters from the Mediterranean region and international film industry professionals, led by Danae Stylianou. The 11th Cyprus Film Days for Children and Youth, under artistic director Athena Xenidou, will also offer workshops and screenings.
International Jazz Day concert closes the month
April’s programme concludes on April 30 with the Chunky Funky & Soulful Groove Col concert, held on International Jazz Day. The performance will feature the ensembles Chunky Funky and Soulful Groove Collective, focusing on modern jazz.
