Nicosia, Cyprus. The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) on Thursday announced the launch of a consultation process on new rules for participation in its funding programmes. The rules are expected to be applied to a new Grants Management System scheduled to go live in 2027.
Key proposed changes
The proposed changes include the use of lump sum payments and the implementation of standard scales of unit cost for personnel. The new framework would also allow affiliated entities to participate in funded projects to broaden the scope of research activities.
Project oversight
RIF said it intends to introduce the role of project manager for projects with funding exceeding €150,000, aimed at ensuring more rigorous oversight.
How to submit feedback
Interested entities are invited to submit comments and suggestions on the draft participation rules. Feedback must be submitted exclusively through the dedicated online questionnaire by March 18, 2026, at 13:00, and can be provided in either Greek or English.
Further information and documents
For further information about the consultation, interested parties can contact the Partner Support Centre via the official email address. RIF also provided a draft of the new participation rules and a consultation announcement for review.
