Robotex Pancyprian Educational and Athletics Robotics Competition to be held in Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Computer Society is preparing to host the ninth Robotex Pancyprian Educational and Athletics Robotics Competition in Nicosia on Saturday, June 27, 2026, and Sunday, June 28, 2026. The event will take place at the University of Cyprus Sports Centre and will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both days.


Event details

Organisers said the festival will bring together about 700 participants from across Cyprus, including school pupils, university students and adult enthusiasts.

Competition programme

The competition floor will include more than 20 challenges aimed at testing local engineering and programming skills. The programme has been divided to accommodate different age groups and technical disciplines.

Official attendance

Nicodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, is scheduled to lead the official opening ceremony.

International participation

Robotex International Chief Executive Officer Nathan Matsala has also confirmed that he will attend the event. According to the organisation, his visit is significant because Cyprus was the first country to adopt Robotex as a national competition.

International finals

During his visit, Matsala will present a preview of the Robotex International 2026 finals in South Korea. The organisation said this will mark the first time the global event is held outside Estonia.

Path to international representation

Winning teams in Nicosia will secure the opportunity to represent Cyprus internationally, continuing the country’s record of awards abroad.
