The Ministry of Labour has announced that shops in Cyprus must remain closed on the 15th of August. The specialized shops, however ,are exempted from this restriction. They can be work on that day and employees must received double pay.
The Head of the supermarket association has appealed to this decision stating that there is no specific law, which will force the shops to remain closed. He also added that the members of the association will decide on the working hours depending on what is best for the business.
