TechIsland and CIBA sign memorandum to boost cooperation in Cyprus technology and business sectors

The signing of the MoU

Nicosia, Cyprus. TechIsland has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Cyprus International Businesses Association (CIBA) to strengthen collaboration between Cyprus’ technology and international business sectors.

Partnership aims and rationale

TechIsland said the partnership is based on a shared commitment to collaboration as a driver of growth for the Cypriot economy and the innovation ecosystem.

CIBA is an independent cross-sector organisation that has represented and advocated for the interests of international businesses operating in Cyprus for more than three decades, according to the announcement. TechIsland said CIBA’s experience and international business network align with its mission of promoting Cyprus as a global technology destination.

Organisations’ roles and membership

TechIsland said it represents a broad technology ecosystem, ranging from startups and SMEs to large multinational companies, including both local and international firms operating in Cyprus. It added that its members share the objective of positioning Cyprus as a global destination for technology, innovation and investment.

Planned areas of cooperation

TechIsland said the partnership will focus on the exchange of knowledge and insights between the technology sector and the wider international business community.

The cooperation will also include joint industry reports, surveys and advocacy initiatives aimed at supporting the continued development of Cyprus’ business and innovation landscape. The two organisations also plan to collaborate on events, roundtables and business delegations intended to promote Cyprus internationally and encourage new investment and cooperation opportunities.
