Nicosia, Cyprus. Ten people were arrested overnight for offences including illegal residence, burglary, theft, illegal possession of property, assault and traffic violations during police operations in urban areas.
Arrests and offences
The arrests were made in the framework of police operations conducted in urban areas. The offences cited were illegal residence, burglary, theft, illegal possession of property, assault and traffic violations.
Vehicle and driver checks
Police stopped 679 vehicles and checked 949 drivers and passengers. A total of 358 reports were filed, including 157 for speeding, 10 for drink driving and four for driving under the influence of drugs.
Establishment raids
Police also raided 45 establishments and filed four reports as part of the effort to crack down on crime.
