The Edit Gallery hosts Yeti’s first solo exhibition, The Greatest Nation Ever

Limassol, Cyprus. The Edit Gallery is hosting The Greatest Nation Ever, the first solo exhibition at the space by multidisciplinary artist Yeti. The show presents works exploring imagined worlds shaped by power, belief and perception.

Exhibition concept

The exhibition unfolds through compositions described as fluid and unstable, reflecting shifting realities. Its title is presented as operating on two levels, drawing on rhetoric of political dominance while also suggesting that “nation” can refer to internal landscapes shaped by memory, perception and belief, framing nationhood as a psychological construct that is continually redefined.

Artistic approach and references

Yeti’s process is rooted in intuition and is developed without preparatory sketches. The works use elements of reverse perspective associated with Byzantine iconography to hold multiple viewpoints simultaneously, combining figures, animals and fragmented landscapes between the symbolic and the familiar. References to mythology, religion, history and science appear throughout, while the works resist forming a singular narrative.

Interpretation and tone

The exhibition places uncertainty as a central method, inviting an ongoing process of reading and re-reading rather than a fixed interpretation. The compositions are described as shifting depending on where and how they are observed, reinforcing instability linked to broader social and existential questions. A subtle layer of satire runs through the works without overt commentary, circling themes of authority, existence and mortality without offering resolution.

Artist background

Born in 1996, Yeti lives and works between Cyprus and Greece. He graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts and pursued further studies in Warsaw, and his practice spans painting, murals, sculpture and installation. Beginning in graffiti, his work retains street aesthetics alongside symbolic and art-historical references, drawing on philosophical, religious and Jungian frameworks. Working under a pseudonym, he maintains a separation between personal identity and artistic output.
