Limassol, Cyprus. The third Cyprus International Theatre Festival will take place at the Pattihio Theatre from March 2 to 8, bringing artists from around the world with a focus on female artists. The festival’s theme is “She is Here.”
Theme and artistic focus
The theme “She is Here” is described as signifying the arrival of an artist who stands on stage not by chance, but by an internal necessity to speak her truth. The festival aims to highlight the strength found in solitude and the clarity of the singular feminine voice, and to offer audiences an opportunity to witness what it describes as raw theatre.
Founder’s statement
Festival founder Alexander Weinstein said the festival aims to create a space where the power of presence speaks louder than words. He said the festival is bringing together female artists from around the world and inviting everyone, regardless of age or language, to experience the truth of the women on stage.
Accessibility and audience
The festival said it will focus on visual storytelling, movement, and physical expression to ensure every performance is accessible to all. Organisers said the programme is suitable for families and audiences of all backgrounds.
Workshops and programme announcement
A side event programme will include workshops for both professional performers and the general audience, offering an opportunity to engage directly with theatrical craft. The full list of artists and the complete festival programme are expected to be officially announced in early February.
