Third Palestinian Independent Film Festival to hold screenings and events in Limassol

Limassol, Cyprus. The third edition of the Palestinian Independent Film Festival will take place across multiple countries and cities, with a three-day programme scheduled in Limassol. Screenings and events are set for May 8-10, alongside discussions and parties.


Festival programme and themes

Spread across five locations, the 2026 programme features recent Palestinian films reflecting on movement, memory, and the persistence of everyday life. The programme includes the feature documentary Yalla Parkour, which opens the festival on Friday at 8pm, the short films Upshot by Maha Haj and Gaza Bride 17 by Waseem Khair on Saturday, and the feature film All That’s Left of You by Cherien Dabis on Sunday.

Venues and discussion in Limassol

In Limassol, events will take place at Synergeio Theatre. Following the second evening’s screenings, a discussion will be held with Dr Loucia Dimitriou, Professor of Cross-Cultural Developmental Psychology, and filmmaker Keti Papadema, who is also associated with the International Short Film Festival Cyprus.

Workshop and closing event

Before Sunday’s feature film screening, a pop-up print workshop titled The Watermelon will run from 5pm to 7pm by Agkathin (Konstantina Niina Achilleos and Tuomas Venäläinen), offering artist-led, hands-on experiences aimed at engaging and collaborating with local artists. A closing party is scheduled for Sunday at 10pm, with the festival moving to Tapper bar for music by DJ Elenaki.
