Nicosia, Cyprus. Three hospitalised soldiers are being treated for a viral infection, and meningitis has been ruled out, defence ministry spokesman Christos Pieris said on Friday. He also provided an update on a Greek forces Eldyk soldier being treated for meningitis at Nicosia general hospital.
Viral infection cases in military unit
Pieris told the Cyprus News Agency that three soldiers hospitalised from the same unit are being treated for a viral infection, and that meningitis has been ruled out. The three soldiers are expected to be discharged over the coming days.
Status of Eldyk soldier
Pieris said the Eldyk soldier being treated for meningitis at Nicosia general hospital is stable and does not have a fever.
