Nicosia, Cyprus. The road transport department, TOM, has urged applicants for learner driver’s permits to schedule their practical driving tests as early as possible because demand for examination appointments remains high.
Early booking encouraged
TOM said early planning is needed to ensure applicants can be accommodated without lengthy delays and to prevent a backlog of requests. It also encouraged prospective drivers to book their practical test through the department’s online services immediately after receiving their learner’s permit.
Age requirements
The department said a learner driver’s permit can be issued from the age of 17 and a half, while candidates become eligible to sit the practical driving test for a full licence at the age of 18.
