Aradippou, Cyprus. New traffic cameras became operational on Tuesday at key junctions in Aradippou after authorities completed the latest phase of a road safety upgrade along Ellados Avenue. Drivers passing through the area are now subject to monitoring for traffic offences.

Operational junctions

The municipality said cameras at the junction of Ellados Avenue and Ivikou Street, as well as at Sergiou and Bacchus Street, are now in operation.

Project significance

Municipal authorities described the project as one of the most important interventions in recent years to improve road safety in the area.

Next phase

Additional camera-controlled junctions along Ellados Avenue are expected to become operational in the coming days after final technical testing and adjustments are completed. These include the intersections with Georgiou Theotoka Street and Iakovou Patatsou Street.

Final implementation stage

The municipality said the wider project is in its final stage of implementation, with the new cameras intended to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of collisions at busy crossing points.

Advice to drivers

Drivers travelling through the area have been urged to familiarise themselves with the new arrangements.
