Nicosia, Cyprus. Short-term traffic disruptions are expected on the Limassol to Nicosia motorway in the coming weeks as crews install electronic signage and carry out overnight road marking, the public works department said.

Electronic signage works on Limassol-Nicosia motorway

On Tuesday, between 9am and 5pm, crews will continue installing electronic variable message signs before the Ayios Tychonas exit in both directions. During the works, the left lane will be closed for approximately 600 metres.

Similar works planned on Limassol-Paphos motorway

A similar project will take place on the Limassol-Paphos motorway, with electronic signs to be installed before the Erimi exit in both directions.
The works are scheduled from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and the left lane will remain closed for a 600-metre stretch while work is under way.

Overnight road marking works later in the month

Further disruptions are planned on the Limassol-Nicosia motorway in the direction of Nicosia, where road marking works will be carried out overnight.
From January 26 to February 5, excluding Fridays and weekends, crews will work between 8pm and 5.30am the following day. During this period, one lane will be closed in sections of roughly 500 metres at a time.

Department advice to motorists

The public works department said the measures are necessary to complete scheduled improvements and apologised for the inconvenience, asking the public to comply with temporary road markings and police instructions.
