Washington, United States. U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said he was not looking at deploying soldiers to the Middle East as the Iran war headed toward a fourth week. His comments came as Reuters reported the administration is considering deploying thousands of U.S. troops to reinforce the Iran operation.
Trump’s comments at the White House
Trump made the remarks at the White House during an Oval Office meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Responding to a reporter’s question about whether he was planning to send more service members to the region, Trump said, “I’m not putting troops anywhere.” He added, “If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you. But I’m not putting troops. We will do whatever is necessary.”
