UN envoy Holguin to meet Cyprus leaders on resuming negotiations

Nicosia, Cyprus. United Nations envoy Maria Angela Holguin will meet President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman on Tuesday to discuss the resumption of negotiations. A joint tripartite meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28.


Schedule of meetings

Holguin is scheduled to meet Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace at 10am, followed by a meeting with Erhurman at 2pm.

Preliminary discussions

Holguin arrived in Cyprus on Monday and held preliminary discussions with negotiators from both communities ahead of the meetings with the two leaders.

Follow-up and expected departure

The meetings follow talks held by the leaders on 11 December. Holguin is expected to remain in Cyprus until January 29.
