UNHCR says at least 30,000 displaced people sheltering in Lebanon amid Israel-Hezbollah hostilities

Beirut, Lebanon. At least 30,000 displaced people have sought protection in shelters in Lebanon since hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah began on Monday, the UN refugee agency said on Tuesday.


UNHCR estimates and conditions

UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch said conservative estimates suggest that nearly 30,000 people were hosted and registered at collective shelters. He added that many more slept in their cars on the side of roads or remained stuck in traffic jams.
